September 22, 2009 — Allviant announced that Tom McHale has been named vice president of business development.
McHale will build out Allviant's network of healthcare stakeholder relationships to include insurance companies, health service providers, and technology vendors that expand the foundation for CarePass technology.
Most recently, McHale spent over 10 years with Microsoft driving large-scale technical and marketing partnerships with independent software vendors (ISV). As regional manager of the Industry ISV team, he developed partnerships that drove over $50 million in incremental revenue for Microsoft server products. Prior to Allviant, McHale built and ran a 12-person marketing organization for Benefitfocus where he developed and implemented go-to-market strategies for the healthcare payer and employer benefits management markets. Previously, McHale led business planning, strategy development, and product management for Blackbaud’s online business and directed product and marketing strategy for startup BAport Technology.
Allviant is a developer of the CarePass line of network offerings for healthcare. CarePass is a technology-enabled service that gives consumers a new method of access, convenience and control by connecting existing healthcare information systems and administrative data though a personally-defined set of communication mediums and methods — from phone to text to email or fax, the company noted in a release.
